Advanced Care for Mother and Baby

Fetal Medicine

The Fetal Medicine Department is committed to offering outstanding maternal and fetal care, guaranteeing the well-being and health of both mother and unborn baby. Our maternal-fetal medicine specialists are experts in diagnosing, monitoring, and treating complicated conditions of high-risk pregnancy and fetal abnormalities. Through the application of advanced diagnostic technologies and delicate interventions, we aim to provide superior prenatal care, bringing hope and support to families facing complicated pregnancies. Our dedication to excellence guarantees that each patient is provided with individualized, kind, and extensive care specific to their specific needs.

Why Choose Us?

Specialized Expertise

Our staff consists of highly experienced maternal-fetal medicine specialists with a great deal of experience in caring for complicated pregnancies and fetal conditions. Their specialized knowledge ensures proper diagnoses and successful treatment strategies.

Comprehensive Care Model

We embrace a multidisciplinary model that brings together prenatal screening, diagnostics, comprehensive counselling, monitoring, and therapeutic interventions. This comprehensive model offers smooth continuity of care from diagnosis through delivery.

Advanced Diagnostic Technology

We leverage cutting-edge technology, such as 3D/4D high definition ultrasound, fetal echocardiography, and non-invasive prenatal testing (NIPT), along with invasive diagnostic procedures (amniocentesis and CVS) with lowest procedure related risks. These technologies allow for accurate evaluation of fetal growth and early identification of issues.

Personalized Treatment Plans

Each pregnancy is different, as are our treatment plans. We create tailored treatment plans that meet the unique medical, emotional, and social needs of each baby and mother.

Collaborative Care

Our experts work together with obstetricians, geneticists, neonatologists, pediatric surgeons, and other specialists to care for complicated cases. This collaborative process ensures that all dimensions of care are coordinated for the best results.

Compassionate Support

In addition to medical experience, we offer emotional and psychological support to the family, guiding them through the intricacies of high-risk pregnancies with assurance and confidence.

Our Expertise

The Fetal Medicine Department is well-capable of diagnosing and treating a variety of maternal and fetal conditions, providing specialized care to tackle even the most complicated cases. Our specialty encompasses:

Intensive Prenatal Diagnosis and Screening

We provide state-of-the-art screening like non-invasive prenatal testing (NIPT), first trimester screening, second trimester anomaly scan, 3D/4D ultrasounds, and fetal echocardiography. All these aid in accurately detecting fetal abnormalities at an early stage, hence enabling proper interventions at the right time.

 Diagnostic Procedures:

To conduct accurate genetic and fetal health tests, we undertake procedures such as chorionic villus sampling (CVS), amniocentesis, and cordocentesis. These are vital tests that inform treatment by telling us about the condition of the fetus.

High-Risk Pregnancy Care:

Our practice has expertise in managing pregnancies complicated by maternal medical conditions (e.g., diabetes, high blood pressure), twin or higher-order gestations, advanced maternal age, recurrent pregnancy loss, or a history of earlier complications. We offer customized monitoring and treatment to guarantee the optimal outcome.

Fetal Monitoring

Continuous follow-up of high risk pregnancies allow us to monitor fetal development in term of growth and maturity, and computerized fetal heart rate monitoring (computerized CTG) heart rate enables us to identify problems early and respond promptly to any fetal distress.

Innovations and Advanced Therapeutic Services

Our department leads in fetal medicine with innovative therapy services to solve complicated fetal illnesses. These novel therapies are engineered to enhance fetal health and assist in successful pregnancy:

Fetal Blood Transfusion:

In instances of severe anemia in the fetus, usually due to blood group or rhesus (Rh) incompatibility, we conduct in-utero blood transfusions to improve the level of red blood cells and avoid complications.

Shunt Insertion:

In conditions such as obstructive uropathy or pleural effusion, in which there is abnormal accumulation of fluid in the fetus, we can place small tubes (shunts) to allow drainage of the fluid whenever indicated.

Laser Therapy for Twin-to-Twin Transfusion Syndrome (TTTS)

In monochorionic twin pregnancies complicated by severe TTTS, we apply laser therapy to reverse abnormal blood circulation between the twins, enhancing survival and outcomes.

Amnioreduction

To treat polyhydramnios (too much amniotic fluid), we conduct amnioreduction to decrease fluid amount, alleviating maternal discomfort and lowering the risk of preterm labor.

Fetal Surgery

In certain situations, we provide minimally invasive fetal surgery to repair structural defects, like spina bifida or congenital diaphragmatic hernia, to enhance long-term outcomes for the infant.

Research and Innovation

We continue to push the boundaries of fetal medicine through a culture of constant research and development. Our department is actively engaged in clinical research and works alongside premier institutions in the development of new diagnostic systems and treatment regimens. It is this emphasis on innovation that ensures our patients are treated using the most contemporary developments in mother-baby healthcare.

Patient-Centered Care

At the centre of our mission is a patient-centred commitment. We know that high-risk pregnancies are emotionally and physically demanding, so we make open communication, empathy, and respect a priority. Our staff takes the time to explain diagnoses, discuss treatment options, and answer any questions, giving families the tools they need to make informed decisions about their care.
