Dr. Werner Diehl is the Chair of the Department and Consultant in Fetal Medicine at the Fetal Medicine Center, Corniche Hospital, Abu Dhabi. He was trained at the University Hospital of Hamburg, Germany, in the Department of Obstetrics and Maternal-Fetal Medicine. He is a German Board-certified Specialist in Obstetrics and Gynecology with subspecialization in Perinatology and Maternal-Fetal Medicine. He is also a member of DEGUM II, holding German Board certification in Obstetric and Fetal Ultrasonography, and is a certified Laser Specialist.
Dr. Diehl has contributed significantly to the rapid development of the Fetal Medicine Center at Corniche Hospital, consolidating and expanding the spectrum of services and fetal interventions now available in the UAE. With more than 200 fetoscopic procedures completed, including fetal surgery, the Fetal Medicine Center covers the full range of evidence-based fetal diagnostic and therapeutic interventions.
Furthermore, Dr. Diehl has established the Fetal Cardiology Clinic, which involves joint counseling with Pediatric Cardiology and birth planning for babies with congenital heart disease.
